The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) he published the book “The magical warmth of the Earth”, an illustrated text designed for to introduce primary school children to the knowledge of geothermal phenomena.
The book, developed within the project IRGIE (Inventory of Geothermal Resources of the Aeolian Islands), was conceived and created by Monia Processi, geologist and INGV researcher, and illustrated by Federico Florindo, graphic designer and illustrator at INGV. This represents one of the few editorial products of its kind dedicated to the topic and aimed at a young audience.
Thanks to the use of a simple language and delicate illustrations rich in details, the volume accompanies the little ones, page after page, on a journey to discover thegeothermal energy, a natural resource, often invisible, that arises from the Earth's heat and can contribute to the energy transition process.
The distribution of the book, published in both Italian and English, will take place through various channels: within the IRGIE project and in the schools involved in the activity, through institutions, universities and associations active in the geothermal sector, as well as during thematic conferences and INGV dissemination events, such as Open Days.
Copies can be requested by writing an email to
