Applications are now open for the first Summer School on Risk Prevention and Management., scheduled from June 22nd to 26th at the University Campus of Monserrato (Cagliari).
The initiative is promoted byUniversity of Cagliari (UniCa) and by the 'Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), in collaboration with Central Directorate of Civil Protection of Sardinia, il National Body of Fire , Italian Red Cross.
The Summer School was born with the aim to strengthen skills in the prevention and management of natural and environmental risks, in a context characterized by an increase in extreme events.
The program, divided into five days, integrates scientific and operational knowledge, promoting a systemic approach to understanding the territory and effective collaboration between institutions and the territory.
The project's claim, “It happens. Period.”, summarizes its philosophy: act before the emergency occurs. Thanks to theoretical lessons, planning tools, risk communication, and field simulations, participants will learn to operate with awareness, acquiring new skills and a broader vision.
In an era where risk is no longer an exception but a structural condition, investing in advanced training becomes a strategic priority. The Summer School, whose curriculum was developed by the working group coordinated by Professor Maria Teresa Melis of the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences, Dr. Massimiliano Saba of UniCa, and INGV, aims to make the initiative a training model replicable at national level, aimed at strengthening the culture of prevention and the resilience of the territories.
You can send your application filling out the form dedicated by 30 April 2026.
