On May 4, from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Scugnizzo Liberato in the heart of Naples, there will be 'Talk potable', the science dissemination event organized by PONYS - Physics and Optics Naples Young Students, the cultural association of students, PhD students and researchers of the Physics Department of the University of Naples Federico II.
In the wide range of activities, theVesuvian Observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (OV-INGV) offers a focus on Campania volcanoes: Vesuvio, Campi Flegrei e Ischia.
The researchers of the Vesuvian Observatory, coordinated by Giuliana Alessio, Maddalena De Lucia and Girolamo Milano, will share the current knowledge on the formation, the eruptive history, the typology of the products erupted by these volcanoes. The recent methodologies developed at the Vesuvius Observatory aimed at the study and monitoring of Campania volcanoes will be explored and demonstrated. In support of these activities: films, interactive laboratories, rock and mineral samples, seismograph and 3D model of Vesuvius. Furthermore, in the afternoon there will be a presentation on the ancient eruptive centers of the city of Naples.
