Friday 30 September, starting at 9:00, the webinar will be held, open to public, on the first training session of the REDI (REducing risks of natural DIsasters) project.
The morning of seminars on the topics of seismic hazard, vulnerability, risk, the civil protection code and reconstruction, aimed particularly at students of the REDI school, will be also open to insiders to increase widespread awareness.
The webinar which, among others, will see the intervention of Prof. Carlo Doglioni - President of INGV - on the theme "Geodynamics and seismic hazard", is the final event of the REDI school which from 26 September in Camerino saw scientists and specialist students in the sector compete in an innovative and multidisciplinary school for training on disaster management and reduction of the risks of natural disasters.
Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, landslides, tornadoes, fires, droughts and other extreme events) can lead to serious losses, both in terms of human lives and of tangible and intangible assets (buildings, productive activities, social welfare, community ties, etc.), thus placing a serious brake on the effective achievement of lasting and sustainable development.
To reduce the risks from natural disasters it is necessary to implement a series of integrated and complementary actions that reduce exposure and vulnerability to dangers
natural resources, improve preparation for an immediate response and help create the conditions for post-emergency recovery, thus determining the overall resilience of the system.
