A series of events in numerous cities in Italy will see INGV researchers at the centre of meetings and workshops dedicated to the general public, to bring professionals and enthusiasts closer to the knowledge of natural risks

The 38th edition of is back Remote Future, the initiative that for years brings science and technological innovation closer to generations of students, young professionals and enthusiasts, establishing itself as an event of excellence in the world of research.
Futuro Remoto is organized by City of Science Foundation in collaboration with National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), National Research Council (CNR), National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) e Regional School Office for Campania of the Ministry of Education and Merit.
This year's theme will be “CO-SCIENCES”, an invitation to reflect on the cooperation between science and society to address the great global challenges of our time.
INGV researchers will welcome visitors in Naples, Salerno, Benevento, Caserta and Avellino with exhibition stands and numerous outreach activities, promoting scientific knowledge and awareness of natural risks affecting the national territory.
Below are the activities organized by INGV.

Knowledge and co-science of planet Earth: volcanoes, earthquakes, climate change. Focus on the Campi Flegrei caldera
Exhibit curated by INGV (Vesuvian Observatory, Milan Section, Etna Observatory, Palermo Section)
Naples, October 18-20 | 9:00 – 17:00 | City of Science
Using the instruments used by researchers during observation and measurement, it will be possible to observe the natural phenomena of the Earth such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. We will discover the Campania volcanoes such as Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei and Ischia, discovering their peculiar characteristics. We will focus on the current situation of Campi Flegrei and on all the monitoring techniques used by the Vesuvius Observatory of the INGV. Through an interactive narration, visitors will then be asked to make important decisions in situations of natural risk. In a mix of narration, role play, comics and psychological test, an "identikit" will be made that will allow us to reflect on the importance of the choices to be made.

Activities by INGV (Irpinia Section)
Salerno, November 8 | 9:00 – 13:00 | Palazzo Fruscione
Benevento, November 22 | 9:00 – 18:30 | Department of Science and Technology of the University of Sannio – Teaching Complex, Via dei Mulini
Caserta, November 29 | 9:00 – 18:30 | Monumental Complex Belvedere San Leucio
Avellino, December 6 | 9:00 – 18:00 | Bourbon Prison
An interactive journey into the world of Earthquakes aimed at increasing the visitor's historical memory and knowledge, fundamental elements to improve awareness and the ability to reduce seismic risk. During the various events, it will be possible to participate in interactive educational paths and exhibits aimed at making planet Earth and its interior known, with particular reference to the geophysical phenomena with which we interact. It will be possible to learn how your home is made, distinguishing between structural and non-structural elements, thus preventing the risk of damage: all through interactive stations. In addition, the administration of questionnaires, aimed at verifying the degree of learning of the concepts expressed, will be followed by the distribution of educational material to raise awareness among visitors and spread knowledge on the mitigation of natural risks.
