Registration is now open for training courses organized by INGV and dedicated to teachers to discover updated content, tools and teaching methodologies for teaching marine sciences in schools.
Until Monday 9 March it will be possible to join the free training activities that the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) dedicates to teachers of every order and degree.
The modules for teacher training, developed within the initiatives that INGV organizes every year to celebrate the World Oceans Day, scheduled forJune 8, 2026, are designed for support teaching on the themes ofoceano, The marine ecosystems and the main ones environmental challenges of our times, with the aim of offering concrete tools and ideas to bring into the classroom.
The training course is divided into seven webinars, scheduled for the month of March 2026, and offers an exploration of the ocean through different and complementary perspectives. The contents range from marine sustainability to the ecosystem protection, From 'education on natural hazards (especially those related to earthquakes and tsunamis) to active teaching, From scientific communication to the use of educational games, up to marine bioacoustics and to the study of polar ecosystems in relation to climate change.
The webinars offer updated scientific content e teaching methodologies that can be replicated in the classroom, with particular attention to the interdisciplinary approach and the strengthening of the dialogue between school and the world of researchThe initiative is part of a broader framework of activities dedicated to promoting ocean education and the dissemination of scientific culture.
The formation Ocean Education Through STEM: From Scientific Research to the Classroom (ID: 102980) is active on the platform SOFIA. of the Ministry of Education and Merit (MIM), within the catalogue for the continuous training of teachers.
The training webinars will take place on the days of 13, 16, 19 and 20 March 2026.
