The first application of the geomagnetic prospecting technique (GDS) in the western sector of the Anti-Atlas mountain range in Morocco

A network of vector magnetometric stations have been installed in the western area of the Anti-Atlas chain (Morocco) with the aim of applying the magnetic prospecting technique (GDS) and identifying conductivity contrasts in this active tectonic area. The study was carried out thanks to the collaboration between Italy (INGV) and Morocco within the Terremagnet project through the installation of simple magneto-variational stations that measure the variations of the earth's magnetic field on the surface. The data analysis was performed in the time and frequency domain in order to determine the single station induction transfer functions and the related Parkinson's vectors.
