Dal 14 al 17 gennaio a Roma è in programma il meeting AGITHAR (Accelerating Global science In Tsunami HAzard and Risk analysis), il progetto europeo nato per creare una rete globale che standardizzi le tecniche e le metodologie per la valutazione della pericolosità da tsunami al fine di mitigare il rischio, adottando pratiche condivise e interdisciplinari sempre aggiornate.
L’incontro, che si tiene il 14 e il 15 gennaio presso la Società Geografica Italiana – SGI (Via della Navicella, 12) e proseguirà il 16 e il 17 gennaio nella sede dell’Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia - INGV (Via di Vigna Murata, 605), prevede una intensa collaborazione tra le 25 nazioni coinvolte al fine di redigere il primo documento univoco che riporti lo stato dell’arte attuale, gli obiettivi futuri e identifichi le eventuali lacune della ricerca.

The AGITHAR meeting (Accelerating global science in Tsunami HAzard and Risk analysis) is held from 14 to 17 January in Rome. AGITHAR is a European project born to create a global network that standardizes, improves and promotes research on tsunami hazard and risk through shared and interdisciplinary methodologies. The meeting takes place at the Italian Geographical Society - SGI (Via della Navicella, 12) and will continue on January 16 and 17 at the headquarters of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology - INGV (Via di Vigna Murata, 605).
The aim of this meeting is to promote an intense collaboration between the 25 countries involved in order to draw up the first univocal document that reports the current state of the art, the future objectives and the gaps of the research on tsunami hazard and risk.
